Welcome to Core Memory! This site is dedicated to the home micro computers from the 1980's.  During this period, hundreds of models were produced, usually with limited processing/graphics power and with little or no thought given to compatibility between models or manufacturers.  But we didn't care, computers back then were fun and had distinct personalities.

The ultimate aim of this museum is to preserve historic vintage computers for future generations.  Currently an on-line searchable database, containing specifications and individual machine history (where available).

Each exhibit is carefully restored, calalogued and displayed with full specifications and multiple high resolution images. When we have aquired the majority of 1980's home computers, a physical display is planned, to allow members of the public to view, touch and use!

This site will also be of use to vintage computer collectors and enthusiasts; a place to share documentation, discuss, find out what to collect and most importantly how to restore historic old computers to their former glory.

Some of our recent additions to the museum include the very rare Hektor II, the 19-inch rack-mounted Research Machines RM-380Z and the first colour computer for under £100, the Tangerine Computer Systems Oric-1.
